That is exactly where the intake is. Not a great design.

I didn't have too yet. Just trimmed some of the loose insulation and went ahead and swapped the filter. Checked to make sure all of my tubes were connected also.

@BLACKJKU...quick update. The old girl ran good all week. Seems like an airflow issue all along.

So far so good this week. I haven't noticed any power issues at all. Still gotta get it in for the tune up though. Thanks again!

just had the computer updated at the dealership also. Kept having my oil pressure sending unit throw a failure code. Went ahead and replaced the oil cooler when I did, there was an oil leak at the cooler. The smell doesn't smell like burnt oil either.

yes...trans fluid look ok and doesn't smell burnt.

It propagates at about 40 and up. Usually after I have been driving for a while and definitely after some traffic. I'm going to get it in this week for a tune-up.
