    New owner with rear noises

Got the 285/70R17 tires and new wheels installed, along with the Fox shocks. It didn't help with the noise, but I can tell the ride is a bit softer, and the smaller bumps are slightly more subtle. It could be my imagination. I would definitely not say there are any significant changes in the...

Overall we really like the 4xe over the 2-door J we had. It steers a lot better, smoother ride, more comfortable, quieter on smooth roads and gets great gas mileage if you factor in the electric part, which we use up each on each use in most cases. Last fillup we managed 33 mpg. We get about...

What does the Jscan app do for me? I guess I can search for info about it.

    New owner with rear noises

The 20" wheels/tires are standard on the Sahara 4xe, assumed everyone knew this. Those will be the first thing we change... coming up in a few days, we'll know. We are going with the Michelin 285/70R17, which I believe only come in a C rating. We are also changing over to Fox shocks at the...

    New owner with rear noises

The only reasonable (possibly logical) thing I can come up with, being it is happening in all of them (or should I say 2 of 2 that I have driven) and have eliminated most of the common issues, are surface-caused vibrations coming up thru the tires and suspension into the walls/floor of the...

    New owner with rear noises

Yep... same reason "excuse me while I kiss this guy", "there's a bathroom on the right," and "in the garden of Eden" are not the song lyrics people think they are. So would shocks really help my issue any at all?

I did speak with Fox Shocks yesterday and they recommended a set of their shocks but said shocks would not make as much of a difference on gravel roads at slower speeds since there is not much compression to deal with.

I certainly would never expect it to be super quiet, but we came from a 2022 2-door Wrangler, and this noise was not there... in the least bit. The service manager and lead technician both heard it and agreed it would be annoying if it were constant. Neither of them drive off-road or on...

It's vibrations thru the tires and suspension. As MANY others have noted, they don't like it and some have done things to fix it, and it does not bother some others... someone else returned his. The exhaust is non-existent when on battery, and very negligible when on gas. It is what it is...

    New owner with rear noises

Finally got it to the dealer... and this is common noise in these vehicles. The service manager and lead technician, and I, all drove ours and a new one from the lot on the same gravel... both equally as loud at 10-15 mph. I guess it is more sensitive to some than others, but there is nothing...

    Heaviest Cargo Mat?

I don't think Armorlite has the cargo mat for the 4xe yet.

    Heaviest Cargo Mat?

I'm thinking heavy to help block the road noise from the back, and help with the vibrations even more than just dampening. I don't really know that it will make much difference, but trying to take advantage of every little bit I can muster up.

    Heaviest Cargo Mat?

That might work... although it might be a little more difficult on the curved parts, as a pattern would be cardboard, unless I cut it out first on a piece of paneling or 1/8" ply.

    Heaviest Cargo Mat?

I believe I have the Rough Country mat in my RAM and it is 3/8" thick... very heavy. I'm not sure how to cut it and keep a respectable looking edge. Jigsaw would cut it, but then it will burn the end I think.
