Great thought! I bought the Jeep from a mechanic and he probably did use loctite. I ended up replacing the damper, which was easy, but not installing the relocation bracket. I’ll try heat and a breaker bar when I have a little more time. Plus I should really buy a 1/2” torque wrench :)

All wise words as I’m slowly learning, haha!

I do have a 24" 1/2" breaker bar and a 15/16 socket. But the impact is rated to 200 ft-lbs so I will have to put a big cheater on the breaker bar to beat that. I am also trying to do this with my jeep flat on the ground so I don't have a lot of room. But ya, I gotta do something different so...

It happens only when braking. As soon as I take my foot of the brake or the Jeep stops moving it stops. I don't know enough about brakes and I've never heard this kind of noise before. Ya the road noise drowns it out a bit. Turn it up or try headphones, but you will hear a squeeking the goes on for most of the clip.

I bought a 2012 JK Rubicon and when I brake I hear this noise from the right front. Any ideas? Braking

Just bought a 2012 Rubicon. I had an Explorer that I took off-road quite a bit (gravel and desert trails) but this is my first serious 4WD and I bought for off road use. Guy I bought it from put 35’s on it as part of the deal. Took it to Hollister SVRA yesterday and had a blast!
