No Cabin Filter - Installed New. OVERHEATED?

Bout this 2012 on Monday and working on cleaning it up, tune up, etc. had oil changed today and discovered it had now cabin ac filter…glovebox super dirty when removed. Put a new filter in and then the the Jeep overheated about 15 min later - all the way to red line. Pulled the filter out and heat came down some. Anyone else experience anything like this?

I sold my 2017 4 months ago bc it was overheating. Dealership replaced thermostat 3 times bc different reason back to back, ultimately had to replace engine and still overheated.

Stomach hurts at thought of having this issue with a whole different car.

Not sure if this is your problem but is a common overheating issue, you could possibly have a air pocket in the cooling system if it was opened up and not properly burped. Just jack up the front about 6" with the cap off and idling, add coolant as it goes down.

Another issue is the cooling fan may not be going into high speed.

And one more there was a problem that the Torque Converter was staying LU for to long causing the engine to get hot.
