hi all I bought a 2008 jk in late august and want to upgrade the factory stereo. it has the infinity subwoofer in the back. 1st Question what radio would you recommend for about $200.
2 will it retain or do I have to disconnect the factory amp.I will be buying through crutchfield so they will help along the way also.
just looking for a heads up before I buy. TIA

X2. $200 isn't even close to enough to upgrade the factory sound system.

If you want to upgrade the factory subwoofer, you're going to need a new amp and a new sub, and to power them both correctly, you're going to need an aftermarket head unit. All of this is going to probably run you around $1000 give or take, assuming you install them yourself.

There's simply no way to do this for $200 and have it be an "upgrade" over stock.

If I just want to replace the head unit for now. will it retain the amp and subwoofer?

Oh, I misunderstood then. Yes, if you replace the head unit, it will retain the factory amp and subwoofer, as long as you use one of those harnesses that Crutchfield sells with the head unit.
