Opinions on wheel spacers? 🤔

I love the look it gives lifted vehicles, but I’m not sure if they’re good to put on Jeeps or not.

Thanks in advance 😎

Seems like a hot topic but no for me. Especially when I was with someone and the rear tire came off after a day of four wheeling as soon as we got on the freeway. Luckily no one got hurt, tracked down the tire and got it all back together.

I'm on the no wheel spacer camp. Getting rims with 4.5 " of backspacing
is the correct way do it. It pushes the wheels out 1 1/2" compared to
stock rims which have 6" backspacing .
That 1 1/2" does make the Jeeps stance look better . It will also allow
you to run up to 37" tires and leaves enough room for 1ton steering .
If you do things the right way 1st time out it elimaintes premature wear
on components or worse have a wheel fall off as @Damarch memtioned.
Also some shops won't touch your jeep for new tires or brakes etc if
they see spacers .

I would vote for "No Wheel Spacers" as well. However, I do run some 1.5" spacers on my TJ when I went to 37's. I have properly back spaced wheels on it, but it still rubbed and shortened my turn radius too much. Luckily I didn't have that issue when putting 37's on my JK. Proper back spaced wheels left no rubbing on the JK. If you do have to run them, make sure you loctite the spacers on. I have ran those spacers for a couple years without issue. Having said that, I would avoid spacers if at all possible.
