Steering stabilizer information question

I'd like opinions on steering stabilizer setups. My 2015 JKUR had a aftermarket duel stabilizer conversion installed by the previous owner. I'm unsure of the brand of it but I'm thinking of changing it back to factory setup. It originally had 2.5 spacer lift, 20 inch wheels and 33s. Kind of a mall crawler look. I have since gone with 17 inch wheels 2.5 AEV lift and 33s. Seems like this stabilizer setup could be damaged easily when going off road the way it clamps to the axel. I'm planning on doing some moderate trail rides and would like some opinions please.

Total waste of money imho.

It's only real purpose is to soften a little bit of the feedback you get from the wheels.

There is a common misbelief that it will prevent death wobble. It won't. It might soften it a bit, but it won't fix it. If you have DW the best a stabilizer can do is mask it some. At least until it gets really bad.

If everything in your front steering is set up correctly and working correctly, a simple $50-$60 stabilizer is more than enough.

As far as mounting it/hitting on rocks/etc, Clayton makes an excellent bracket that moves the stabilizer up and out of the way, while allowing access to trackbar bolt without removing the stabilizer.

 
I would just keep what you have until they start to leak. The previous owner bought into the double stab crap, but unless something is failing I don't see any reason to spend the money to get a new one.

Thank you. I noticed a little leakage form the right side so I may change it out soon.
 
I wouldn’t waste money replacing the steering stabilizer. The only thing it does is dampen feedback from the road. Remove it when it goes bad and use the money for the new stabilizer on a tank of gas.

It makes speed bumps a little less annoying but that's about it.
