Smittybilt XRC Skid Plate - Clearance Issues?

I have a 2009 JK (3.8L manual transmission) with 2.5" AEV lift, 285/75r17 tires and a trussed Dana 30 front axle. I'm looking at picking up a used Smittybilt XRC skid plate for the engine/transmission. I see that the description of the skid plate says that it requires at least a 2.5" lift and I've also seen some reviews complain about contact with the front differential with the skid plate. It seems that that most relates to the Dana 44, but it's not 100% clear. So, a few questions:

1) With the Smittybilt, will I be losing any appreciable ground clearance?
2) Will I have any rubbing/contact issues with the trussed Dana 30?
3) Any heat retention issues with the skid plate?

Any other thoughts, concerns, etc?

Thanks!
