Has anyone replaced their pitman arm? If so, what way did you get it off? I have tried a pitman arm puller from and auto parts store but I broke it. It’s really stuck on there. Any advice is much appreciated.

Have you tried heat ?
Remove the fastener completely, heat the ring (try to avoid heating the shaft)
If it still won’t pull off with the puller, heat it til it turns blue/almost cherry. And hit it with the garden hose. Then the puller should work.
Failing that, get the hack saw out

When I get the time I’ll put some heat on it. I was just gonna torch cut it off but if I can get it off in one piece that would be ideal. Did you just use a propane torch?

Heat and look for the heavy duty conical pitman arm puller. You could use one of those plumbing torches but it may take a while to get warm.

Part 2: Why are you replacing the PA?

I replaced it on my TJ, and man that was a bitch! I had to use a pickle fork and a lot of leverage to get it off
