The transmission in my 2007 JK has gone out. I took it to one of the two local shops and they want $5k to rebuild it. Is it worth rebuilding or where can I find a replacement for a decent price?
 
Does the shop have a decent warranty? A 3yr unlimited mileage warranty is a good start. The used route has it's own set of downfalls but could be half the cost.

They did not mention a warranty on their rebuild but suggested I just go buy a reman from Autozone thickly would be $2.5k and let them put it in for an additional $1.2k. I found one online from Moparonlineparts but was not sure if it was reputable as they have a unit that is $1372 with a $2000 refundable core charge. Anyone have any experience with those places?
