Ok guys and girls I have a 2016 automatic that stalls every morning when I shift into reverse to pull out of my spot. It just kinda rumbles and stalls but is fine the rest of the day. Any ideas?

Transmission fluid level would be my first place to try. Mine did the same, checked level it was a little low. Added and fixed the problem. It was always the first start of the day for some reason.

I have 2017 JK I just bought used with 59k miles on it has been to the dealership twice now and they cannot reproduce so they won’t touch it. I have given them information from this forum, you tube videos etc. but unless they can reproduce it they are telling me they won’t even investigate. How did any of you get past the reproduction of the issue for them to fix it. Like most of you it’s the first start of the day sputters a little and stalls out. Our driveway is on an incline. Start it up again and doesn’t happen. I am frustrated because I still have only driven about 700 miles since I bought it and been with them in the shop now for a total of about 2 weeks and can’t get anywhere. I even have video of my car doing it and still won’t take action without recreation in front of their service people. It doesn’t throw codes either. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

That happened to be a little over a year ago and ended being a bad crankshaft position sensor. It was an easy and cheap fix. I hope that works for you, good luck!
I have a 2013 jk 3.6 5 speed auto. it wants to stall on the first shift in the morn...the longer i warm it up it lessens but still not smooth. I put it in drive it does it to a lesser degree. I let the trans warm up a little to about 75 and then shift to rev. Still hard but less. After a short ride and trans reaches 168 shift is smooth in rev. I put it in drive because its less torque on system then rev. I will change the crank shaft position sensor...cheap fix to try.

Note: diff topic- check your exhaust flange bolts. Found mine rotted or gone all 4. Found it on a pre winter check. My jk is going to be 10 years old in jan '23. Picked up this issue when i got it...same bull shit with dealer...unable to duplicate condition...no code. Only happens at the start of th day.

Welp, I just had my 16 at the dealers for two weeks… it was the O2 that they ended up replacing due to a leak that was causing them to fault… so I was told. Yesterday morning it stuttered and this morning it did shut down when put in reverse. Same issue….only happens with the initial start of the day! I will definitely check the we trans oil ….start her up in the AM and back to the dealer if she shuts down again😵‍💫

I'm having the same issue with 2015 jku. I replaced the crankshaft position sensor with a mopar sensor and topped off the transmission fluid. Still having the same issue. Other then the first start of the day there is no issues.🤷🏼‍♂️
Was wondering if anyone had any other ideas? Would changing the transmission filter and fluid help? Not sure when it was last done because I've only had it a couple of years now.
