I fear that would be asking for trouble, unless Jeep is never left unattended in my part of the world

I joined this forum specifically to see what others thought about the Alpine i209/x209-WRA. Does anyone have one and what’s your opinion?

Not sure on that one. I was looki g at this one https://www.crutchfield.com/p_500I207WRA/Alpine-Restyle-i207-WRA.html

It is about half the price and is basically pug and play. I know it is a bit smaller, but from what I have seen people seem to like it. It comes with everything needed to install. I have been looking at replacing my factory radio thanks to the crappy Uconnect system. Most of the head units i looked at were in the $350-500 range and then installation gear is roughly $200 if you want the Maestro data link to retai. Steering wheel controls.

I went with a Kenwood Excellon instead, which is IMHO better than the Alpine at a fraction of the cost. Alpine is resting on their laurels and charging for the name.
