Does anyone know the reverse light switch is located?

Reverse light would randomly turn on, disconnected the fuse for now. Picked up a new back up sensor switch part s41243 for my 2009 jeep wrangler x. Does anyone know where to locate this on the jeep cant find it anywhere.

See if this will help you, it was the wrong link. It says on the left side about under the shifter.

If I recall, someone posted about this a while back and found it was located on the top of the transmission near the shifter assembly.

I just found that also so I don't know which area is right, I guess I could crawl under mine and see.

It's on the left side of the transmission shifter tower.

Does the old one pull out after you take the bolt off, I don't want to force it and it only turns

No firsthand experience I can give you, but looking at the photo, it looks like it's just an o-ring in there, so it should pop out. A small screwdriver under the main portion of the switch body should be all the help it needs.
