Death wobble after lift install

I have a 2015 Wrangler with a lift system....it's experiencing the death wobble....I put new tires on it and new arms. The mechanic now says it needs an adjustable tow bar. They did refund the control arms as it didn't fix it. I've read this us common with Jeeps.....any suggestions? Price range to fix? Is it because of the lift system? Thanks. ...any answers will help.
 
Do you mean adjustable track bar, if so any time a Jeep gets any size of a lift it needs one front and rear. What it does is center the axles under the Jeep. What brand of a lift and high high? Does it have adjustable control arms?

Honestly I'm not sure...I bought it at a dealership....used....also they didn't phrase it as adjustable track bar ....thanks for the info....will give me a place to start....

I suggest you find a Jeep Club near you on Facebook and ask for recommendations on experienced 4WD shops. "Average" mechanics may be good as generalists, but a shop that specializes KNOWS what to look for and knows what works.

So my 2015 Wrangler now has a new trackbar however has not fixed the death wobble problem. I went to a 4x4 Jeep specialist garage and they said the Jeep is designed to "walk" when it hits a bump like that and there are no signs if a death wobble. I have a video of the Jeep shaking like crazy.....two things....is it possible to take the lift system off and how expensive? Second has anyone heard of Bump Steer?

Yes bump steer is what the older 4x4's have that didn't have the crossover steering. When the newer 4x4's went to crossover steering that pretty much did away with bump steer, if you do have bump steer then something isn't done right with your lift. Maybe post a picture of your front suspension and we might be able to see what's going on.

Tires badly worn wrong and out of balance could cause death wobble, my old worn out 35's that used to be on caused DW. Maybe put the rear tires on the front and see if that changes anything.

Also keep in mind there is a big difference between death wobble, vibrations, and bump steer. A huge difference in fact! Most people are confusing death wobble with something else entirely.
 
To answer your other question about taking off a lift kit, there are a lot of variables that will impact the cost. If it was a cheap lift using only spacers it might not cost much of anything. On the flipside, you may need new shocks, new springs, possibly other things as well. Either way you would almost certainly need an alignment as well. A lifted Jeep should drive fine if it has been done correctly.

All are decent shops with good reputations for 4x4, lift kits, suspensions, etc. Not sure where in SC you are, but give it a shot.
