This antenna is from PO, not sure of brand/etc.

Reception is rather weak, like to improve.

Anyone have comments of how stock antenna works or recommendations for alternates?

Thanks.

I have an antenna that is 1 inch higher then the top of my roof . It helps me know when I go into the casino parking garages if my jeep is too high ..if the antenna his the low clearance sign I know too back out as for reception the taller antenna gets a way better signal..plus you can fit more hot dogs on your antenna to have meals on wheels

I have about a 4” rubber antenna. Looks fine and doesn’t hit stuff when off-roading. Not sure the brand but i seldom use the radio so basically it is there for looks. The stock one kept hitting stuff and bounced around.

Second this. Stock antenna is tested and works to OEM specs and requirements. Aftermarket units are usually for aesthetic aspects and rarely perform as good as the OEM antenna.
Such has been my experience. My Jeep came with one of those stupid .50 cal bullet antennas and my reception was absolutely garbage. Got an OEM one from a coworker that wasn't using their's and everything cleared up fine. Still using it.

I went to a couple inches shorter metal antenna similar to the OEM for the rare occasions I use broadcast radio. Most of the time I'm on SiriusXM. My personal experience with the stubby antennas has them ending up in the trash can.
