    Power Steering Pooped Out

08 Jk, 162k miles. Power steering went out while I was doing donuts in a dirt parking lot… no fluid leaking, can’t see any hoses disconnected… I’ve had my “change oil” signal on for a while, but I changed the oil recently and just didn’t reset the code, I’ve heard of other cars going into limp...

    Squeaking from rear brakes

I had the same issue, thought it sounded like it was coming from the front, I couldn’t figure out what it was, was rotational & would change pitch or stop when I applied the brakes. Turns out it was the rears, and the rotors are trashed now. Anybody have any recommendation for brands? And while...

    Flag pole and mount

I believe that flying a flag off of your vehicle and the wear & tear which come with th style of flying the flag are actually considered disrespectful to the flag and are not condoned by the official US Flag Code. https://www.law.cornell.edu/uscode/text/4/8 “The flag should never be fastened...

    What is this leak?

This thread can probably be deleted, doesn’t seem to be a leak. I’ve been monitoring it and most likely the culprit is a small-ish spill.

    What is this leak?

I think you may be right. I did spill some, didn’t think it was that much though.

    What is this leak?

Yep, made sure the old seal was gone. I think Sidechickbuiltjk below is right, the funnel did slip while I was putting the new oil in, I just didn’t think it was that much.

Is there a spec. for how much transmission fluids it holds so I can drain it and just add the specified amount?

My first Wrangler: What sort of things do I need to be aware of?

Thanks! I live in Colorado and we frequently get warm weather in the winter, so I think I will just have to get protective coatings and be sure to be proactive about getting the under-carriage at the carwash

My first Wrangler: What sort of things do I need to be aware of?

Yeah, it’s the 3.8, I have it wrong on the profile, ha. Seems to be running well, I’ve already put 1500 miles on it. I got it from a dealership, they had power washed the engine, and there’s a thin film of muck starting to accumulate on everything under the hood so I’m starting to worry about...
