Grinding sound from a stop and then turning

After a lifetime of troubleshooting various types of machinery, I learned to check the fuse first. That means to start with the quick and simple possibilities first. Too many mechanics want to rebuild your engine when the problem was a dirty air filter.

J-Scan tire change broke speedometer and threw lots of codes

I would be willing to bet that the spare tire would be about 35 inches. It's not being compressed by the weight of the vehicle. The previous owner had it set to 35 and the speedo and shift points were out of wack. You need to measure the tires on the ground and not the spare.

J-Scan tire change broke speedometer and threw lots of codes

Measuring it the way I did now has my speedometer reading exactly the same as the GPS reading on Google Maps. I figure that is spot on

J-Scan tire change broke speedometer and threw lots of codes

My 35's actually measured 33.75 inches. I put a level across the top of the tireand when the bubble was centered that's what it measured. I didn't have any codes but my speedometer was off and so were my shift points. I also used jscan to change my gear ratio setting when I re-geared my...

Is a muffler delete a good idea?

Let all the tree hugging people from California buy EV's. That will lower the demand on gas which will drive the gas prices down. They can never get rid of fossil fuels, too many item we depend on are made from fossil fuels, and that includes EV's

Is a muffler delete a good idea?

I guess it is, I sold it to someone that didn't want to hear himself think in his jeep. More power to him. It wasn't for me.

Is a muffler delete a good idea?

DON'T DO IT. My jeep came with that exact same muffler. The droning noise inside the jeep was awful. You couldn't hear the radio and it actually hurt my ears. I replaced it with a dual tip performance muffler from RockAuto. I got a little more sound then stock but way less noise than the...
