    RPM's hanging

My 2013 goes to idle as soon a I push in the clutch. My habit is that I have released the gas pedal a few second before I am coming to a stop. I will have to experiment with different methods to see if I can replicate your problem. When ever I have a high idle problem the first thing I check is...

JL Front End: Ugly or Pretty?

They JK replaced the front fenders with plastic, which might be more practical as they are easier to replace when bent, and won't rust . Then the JL put the turn signals way out there just waiting to get busted in the woods. I have gotten used to the JK front end, it only took me 10 years. The...

    Surging issues / poor shifting

You said peddle controler and superchips. First thing is to restore electronics back to stock. Or take it back to who ever installed the peddle controller. In an older jeep, before drive by wire, I had the same symptoms. It was my sons, that I volunteered to drive from florida to NYS. First few...

    Plugs for frame holes

I didn't like those huge holes next to the tires so I used 4 inch chunks of this kind of product. Squeeze it tight and shove it half way in.

Quote from above: Step 2 – Remove tail light assembly The tail light assembly is held in place with four Phillips head screws. Remove all four and pull the assembly out. End quote. The photo of the red jeep shows the wrongs side, the yellow jeep photos are correct. Also just the 2 inside...

Where do I start with my Jeep?

Keeping it coated with an oil based under coat like the Krown or Fluid Film products might keep the frame and body lasting as long as the drive train. Do not under coat it with any product that dries hard. In the salt belt coatings like ziebart are worse than no attempt to protect at all.

    Spring Planning

keep a look out on craigslist and facebook market place. Sometimes you will find a brand new oem softtop that came with a dual top jeep when new. When searching for option for my 2 door, the prices for the oem on those sites were $400 and up. I think I got lucky when looking on Amazon, and one...

Where do I start with my Jeep?

I would disagree with por-15 over anything that has rust. It will seal moisture in.

Where do I start with my Jeep?

When the weather warms power wash the bottom, flush the frame, clean the surface rust off the frame as best you can. Paint what you want on the frame, Do not paint over flaky rust. I think Rustoleum products work just fine. Wait a few weeks, then take it to Krown rust control, or someone that...

Should Jeep Wranglers wave to Gladiators?

There are so many Jeeps on the road, it's not like the olden days. And how do you know it's a gladiator when it is coming at you? Don

How can I get better MPG from my Jeep Wrangler JK?

When I worked for a living I would reset the MPG as I headed for home. I learned to watch the terrain and accelerate when gravity worked for me, and wait til the top of hills to come to full speed. Let off the gas when there is a red light ahead, usually it will turn green before you get there...

2nd gear in 4H vs 5th gear in 4L manual

Transmission Gear Ratios 1st.... 4.46 2nd.... 2.61 3rd.... 1.72 4th.... 1.25 5th.... 1.00 6th.... 0.84 The transfer case has a reduction of 2.72 so 2.7x1.72=4.644 so Low range 3rd is about like 1st in high range. 2.7x1.00=2.7 so low range 5th is about like 2nd in high range. So what are...

Buying a new Jeep soon, need some clarity

"Upgrading" a jeep does not increase resale value and will reduce customer base if you want to sell. The exception might be if you paid a well known jeep expert to install a well known lift kit that doesn't destroy the jeeps daily driver capabilities. Drive it for a year and find out what it...

3.6L, which side is bank 1

I cannot find a definitive answer for the 2012 and later 3.6 liter engine when discussing O2 sensors. Current case is I have a slow to start oxygen sensor, Bank 1 Sensor 1. It sits at 1.25 volts about a minute more than the other 3 sensors, then starts responding and everything is wonderful. In...

Looking for opinions on this frame

Some would consider it high mileage, 125K. But I will probably put less that 2000 on a year so every other JK will catch up pretty fast. The dealer supplied a 30 day written warranty. If you set the odometer to actual mileage, turn Jeep on but do not start, Hold the trip reset button down for...

Looking for opinions on this frame

Follow up is I did purchase the jeep. On the road it is more like our dodge caravan that my TJ. The 3.21 gears are fine for street and highway. But I was surprised how fast it moves when idling in 4lo in low gear. It felt a lot faster that the TJ. It will probably be adequate for slow descents...

Looking for opinions on this frame

The dealer says they replaced the windshield and fixed the TPMS. But had to order the radio. So hopefully early next week for final inspection and test drive. Then hopefully I will drive it home and test it on the mud and slush that are the dirt roads up on the hills.
