Good morning, I need a little help. I'm in the middle of pulling my 3.8 for a rebuild. Does anyone know of a good guide to do it. I'm pushing 70 years old so I'm not as flexible as I used to be. Thanks for any tips or suggestions.

So, when you say you're "in the middle of pulling the 3.8," are you saying you've already started, like the engine is hanging from a cherry picker? I gotta say, regardless of age (I'm not far behind you), that's a pretty strong mission you just handed yourself.

Best of luck to you. There's a couple guys here that have performed that manuever and can prbably give you some good feedback.

Not out yet, right at unbolting from auto trans. Bell housing bolts quite difficult but working on it.

Some things are worth throwing money at. If I ever have to do a rebuild I'm paying someone to do it.

Pulling engines isn't that complicated if you take your time and get yourself the right equipment. I recently swapped my wife's Liberty engine. I found the best tool for that job wasn't the Harbor Freight/Pittsburgh engine hoist (shoulda gotten the larger one) or the load leveler. It was the ramps with hydraulic bottle jacks that raised the front end an extra 8 or 9 inches!
