Hard Top Leaks

It rained all day yesterday and I noticed a giant pool of water on the passenger side floor mat. It appeared to be running down from the top right hand corner near the windshield?

It has also leaked in the car wash twice but in different spots. I was afraid it probably would because of the high pressure wash and with the top being removable I figured it was just likely for water to get in.

But rain?? Is this a common issue? And if your seals all appear to be in good condition then how would you go about fixing it? And is it fixable? What I read on Google is some Jeeps just leak?

Mine leaks, but a very minute and manageable amount. I've tried a variety of fixes, and a combination of them, to keep it to a minimum:
  1. Do not over-tighten the sound bar bolts. Matter of fact, just snug them enough so they don't rattle around. I think over-torquing these can pull the rear of the freedom top tight to the sound bar, conversely lifting it from the front of the windshield and door frame.
  2. Added a couple of turns of electrical tape around the windshield center footman loop, which tightens the center top latch.
  3. Added some after market Lowe's foam weather strip with the adhesive backer in the corners. Didn't remove any of the original, but added to it, so any water needs to find its way past 2 rows of rubber to get in.

Been doing a lot of weather stripping on my 07 in the past few months. It’s a soft top with factory half doors which makes it that much harder to seal off. Finally got it water tight. One thing to remember if u add stripping is that u cannot stop water. U can only redirect it. Add stripping in a manner that sends it away from your trouble spots. Takes a little experimenting but it can be done. As Anybodyhome suggested Lowe’s had a good selection of foam and auto-marine weather stripping. Good luck

Mine doesn’t leak at all . Even when pouring dry as a bone . It could be cause I don’t remove freedom panels . IDK.
I would suggest a new seal kit
When I purchased mine PO mentioned he replaced all the seals and gave me a spare seal kit for the future .
Not expensive . Here is a link

Mine has been leaking from the get go. Dealership gave me all new seals under warranty, then told me it my get worse with the replacements (nice). So I just live with it, have all the drain plugs pulled. And remove the carpets every spring to hose out the salt, and rocker guard the floors. 12yrs and counting. All Good.
