A JK Dana 44 came up for sale on FB. Going to check it out tonight.

Currently I have a 30/44 Sport with stock 3.07 gears and a 6 speed. 2012. 35 inch Mickeys.

The 44 is allegedly a Rubi e-locker and 5.13 gears.

I was originally thinking 4.88s...but a 44 front and rear and 5.13s might get me closer to 37s.

Questions...how do I determine if the outter C is bent? Anyone have measurements or angles to check?

Looks like it's missing all the outter bits...need to locate those parts and price then out. Or will my Dana 30 outter parts work? My brakes and hubs are shot...so they'll need replaced.

Plan would be regear the rear with 5.13s and a Eaton e-locker...fix up this FB axle and swap it in.

Thanks for the input!

I don’t have measurements, but the C looks fine from the picture. Find a local Jeep and verify. I would get new ball joints instead of reusing yours. You can use your outers though. Where are the axle shafts? I would take off the cover inspect the gears, welds and brackets. Haggle the price if stuff looks good, ball joints aren’t cheap and neither are chromoly axle shafts.

What year is your Jeep? I have the 3.6L, 5:13s and 37s and love the combo. I don’t do a ton of highway driving except on my trips. Rpms run a little high at 2750 to 2800 at 70mph.

I bought it. Everything looked good. PO win an ultimate Dana 44 from spicer so it wasnt pulled because something broke.

Came with shafts...oem shafts...and they'll do until they don't and then I'll replace them.

I plan on doing ball joints, hubs, u joints and pads, rotors and maybe calipers.

Rear is a 44 and I'm considering slamming in a Yukon 5.13 on the stock open carrier for now...reuse everything...have some shims available...but that runs just over $415.

Just over a grand for a 513 swap sounds pretty damn good to me.

Jeep needs a lot more...but baby steps... would love to have the coin to throw an e-locker in the back, revolution shafts and a metal cloak 3.5 game changer at this pig...oh and 17 bead lockers and 37s...but that stuff is expensive!

One part at a time after getting it rolling… it took me 4 years to build mine and I am so close, just need a new hd steering box now. Maybe some amber chase lights for the desert..

One word of advice, if I had it to do over again, I would keep weight in mind. I would build it lighter. Probably do aluminum bumpers and skids. My girl is a fatty. Also look into the icon rebound pro wheels. Supposed to be as good as beadlocks but street legal and much lighter than beads.
