Hey all,

Came across a 2014 JKU with 218,000 miles. CARFAX shows it was regularly serviced.

This would not be a daily driver for me.

Are there any owners out there with very high miles that has any input or advice on what to look at? How much can you get out of the 3.6 with regular service?

If you would decide to buy it i'd check to see how much a new engine was and make a allowance for that, i'm sure your not going to get alot more miles from it.

Id be incredibly weary of a high mileage 3.6 so Im on the same page w @BLACKJKU
It better be one hell of a deal!

I just spent $4100 to have a top end rebuild (at the dealer) on our 2015 w/ 140K on it.
I'm pretty sure the PO took great care of the vehicle because it was in amazing condition.
It seems to be a bit of a crap-shoot; some fail early and others never do.

Dan- what dealer did you go with? I have a very low mileage 2014 Rubicon but just want to keep a good Rolodex just in case.

I went here:
https://www.ocauto.com/

They have helped with both warranty and basic service on my 5.7 Hemi Charger as well as our '15 Rubicon. If I decide to have any significant work done on either of our Jeeps, I'll go back here. Aside from the cost, it was a painless experience every time.

I bought my 2013 jku Sahara with 161k on it. I did lose a rocker in the 3.6 and it wiped my one 7cam at 175k but I do all of my own work so it only cost me about $500 for the parts and a good day and half to do the cam and all of the rockers. It is not hard just time consuming. It runs great now. The only other issue I had was with the 2 stage oil pump, a couple of times it wouldn't go into high pressure mode when you accelerate over 3500 rpms when it is supposed to kick in. It has since disappeared since I started using a quart of Marvell Mystery oil in place of one quart of oil in every other oil change. It seems the solenoid gets gunked up with higher miles. I daily drive mine.
