I was driving down the road on trip way done was fine, on the way back steering went crazy. Went so out of alignment and barely could keep it straight..

Looking underneath at tie ride looks loose, am I missing something ? How can driver side move easy and passenger side is tight. Any ideas would help

A good Alignment Shop will inspect the whole front suspension before aligning and repair anything needed or they won't Align.

So you should make sure they do that.

Do you have a place/garage to work on it?

If so I'd drop the axle on some jack stands and pull it all apart. Check your tires for play to rule out hubs and ball joints on the knuckles before you take them off.

Remove the tie rod, drag link and trackbar. Check all the ball joints. When I did mine the ball joint on one end of my tie rod and one of the drag link ball joints were flopping all over the place.

Removing everything not only allows you to check the ball joints, but also the bolt holes that could get wallowed out or are just loose.

It's worth the time to drop the sway bar and links and check those too, and the bushings which are usually worn out.

Check for play in your pitman arm.

This gives you room to check your control arms. Not sure what kind of lift you have, but if it's RC, those control arm bushings disintegrate after 5k miles from what I've seen. They're cheap, but they don't last long.

I just bought my 1st JK, a 2014 with 149,000 miles. Pretty much the entire front end was loose like that. The only thing that was not bad was the bearings but I elected to change them anyways, should get out of alignment shop today!

What was done besides alignment?
Brand new tires, new sway bar bushings, new upper/lower ball joints, new hubs, new axle u joints, new shocks, new factory spec tie rod, track bar and drag link, new spring isolators and a .75" lift puck. Believe that is all..

What is OEM and what is aftermarket? Offset, rebuildable or OEM ball joints?
