Has anyone actually used a Rough Country 794 gas tank skid ? Did you use it to replace the skid or go over what's left of the factory skid? If you used it to replace the factory one what did you do about the bolt for the stock transfer case skid?

Here's one for you to read while waiting for a reply that has been done.

I read that one . But there wasn't any real world information. Or at least not that I saw. But I'm old and may have missed it. OIIIIIIIO
Did you ever find a replacement gas tank skid plate, I'm in the same boat and I don't want to cover up the rusting factory skid.

U can get from several vendors and eBay. All in the $500 range. Ridiculous in my opinion
Agreed, I'm trying to stay away from the $500+ ones I've seen, I've contacted both Rough Country and Rubicon Express and both say that theirs need to be used with the factory skid plate.

Heard that. I patched mine up with some fiberglass and coated it with come por-15 best I could. The outside brace had rusted completely off. Put the rubicon express plate on it just to make sure it didn’t fall off. Still have a floating transfer skid bolt because there is no way to mount it. Aftermarket skids are garbage. Factory skid sux too. They really got a man by the short hairs on a replacement.
