Troubleshoot Wheel Speed Sensors with JScan

Replaced the WSS today. Is there a way to

Replaced the WSS today. Is there a way to know if the one removed was OEM? The new one had a part number and pink mark. The one removed doesn’t have any part numbers or markings. Since the other one did thinking the removed was not OEM.

Update - took for a drive and no lights. Of course its been 3 or 4 days since it came on anyways.
All OEM sensors that I've seen have the part number on them so I think you're correct, the one removed probably was not Mopar

I got one that is borderline in sensing wheel speed. It doesn't stop working long enough to throw a code.
When it now and then stops working for a few seconds it shuts off the cruise control. I'll put my
analyzer on it tomorrow and track down the little rascal and replace it.

Hi everyone, JKU 2014 here. I have what I supposed was a wheel speed sensor issue but replaced the sensor and still get all the error lights. Just scanned everything again with jscan and got something weird.

Bussed speed differs from actual wheel speed. Any clue on this issue?

Thanks in advance.

You might need to clean out any debris on the tone ring - something may be contributing to a false reading. It may well be the harness, too. Is this reading the same as the original speed sensor? You can buy a replacement harness pig tail, but check the wires/contacts for any issues.

Yes, used a genuine Mopar speed sensor.
Wheel speed sensor reads actual speed ok, but bussed input (which I don't have a clue of what it is supposed to be) shows an incorrect reading. All usual lights are on. Abs track control, hill descent

Thanks in advance!

Is it possible that you could have a cable with a bad spot somewhere for that sensor? If it's going to ground it could possibly be the reason.

I will check the wiring. The strange thing is that the actual reading from the sensor is correct, as you can see from the picture. Just "bussed input" (which I don't have a clue what it means) is faulty.

Reviving an old one here to say that our 2015 JKU has an intermittent ABS light flash and sensor ding.
Was wondering if the iCar Pro & JScan would read the ABS codes and I found this thread and I’ll be reading for code’s tomorrow.
Thanks for the great write up; hopefully this will save me a service trip.

I had the sme issue with my 2015 jku. Jscan can definitely help you with this. You can monitor the wheel speed sensors, it will show you the revolutions of the 4 wheel sensors so you will see which one is not working. I purchased an OEM sensor from Rock Auto for half the price then the Stealership.
