New to posting but have used this forum for other problems I had. Ok I have 07 jeep jku. Stock radio with sunpie led headlights with halo rings. Here's the problem ... if I have the aux cord plugging in with nothing attached and the radio on its all good.... as soon as I turn the headlights on I get a high pitched noise through the speakers. The noise doea not change with rpm. If I disconnect the aux cord the noise stops or if I leave the aux cord connected and turn the headlights off the noise stops. It only happens when both are on and plugged in. WTH !!! Hope someone has had this issue as it drives me crazy. Also can't remember if it happened with the stock headlights. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Just installed big 3 to see if it helped and it didnt but it did up my voltage

It’s just electrical interference, common when wiring/routing new equipment. Few ways to solve it:
Change routing
Shielded cables
Better grounding

Car Audio Fix

I still have this issue slightly with my rock lights, I just rarely run the rock lights and care about the radio at the same time, as I’m never.

When u say change routing. Do u mean how the headlights are wired to power source? Also I should upgrade the grounds on the headlights ? If the aux cord is unplugged and the headlights are on there is no noise though... how are the headlights and aux cord connected ? It seems impossible to me. I just upgrade to a big 3 with new batt terminals today and cleaned every ground I could find... 3 on passenger inner fender, 2 on driver fender. 2 on lower engine block on pass side. Should I run a ground from battery to firewall or firewall to block ? How about alt case to battery ? The noise is driving me nuts. I am.installing a whole new stereo system... head unit, speakers , amp and sub very soon and I don't want this noise in the new system. Trying to fix it before that

From my experience most feedback in the stereo come from routing power and signal together. Is there any spots where the Aux cable runs with power associated to the headlights? Are these the standard head lights or the ones with the LED halo?
It could be the location of the LED controller as well if so equipped.

If the noise was continuous while the radio was in use and headlights on I would say it’s issue with the speaker wiring. Very strange it’s only when you use the Aux input. Just for clarity, what are you using as the input in the Aux?

The aux cable is inside the jeep plugged into the factory radio. The headlights are sunpie led with the led halos.. there are 2 boxes for the headlights which are mounted behind each light and a Bluetooth module mounted by the battery. If I unplug the 3.5 aux cord the noise stops or if I turn the headlights off and use the cord it's fine too. Just when both are plugged in and on is the mouse heard. It's totally wierd.

WHAT YOU HAVE IS RFI, RADIO FREQUENCY INTERFERENCE

BACK IN THE DAY, BEFORE 1980'S SPARK PLUG WIRES CAUSED THIS AUDIO PROBLEM... IT'S CAUSED BY HAVING A BARE POWER WIRE OR UNSHIELDED ELECTRICAL DEVICE THAT EMIT'S SPURIOUS RADIO WAVES

ANYTIME YOU HAVE A SPARK OF ANY KIND IN AN ELECTRICAL CIRCUT, THAT SPARK EMITS A BURST OF ELECTRICAL ENERGY CAUSING RADIO RECEPTION INTERFERENCE.. AKA WHINE OR STATIC

SINCE YOURS DOESN'T CHANGE WITH ENGINE RPM.. THAT'S A CLUE ITS A STANDARD WIRING HARNESS ISSUE
( NOT COIL OR PLUG WIRES)

BEST ESTIMATE IS THEY CUT INTO OR TAPPED INTO A POWER WIRE SOMEWHERE DOING THAT HEADLIGHT JOB.. AND ITS AN EXPOSED BARE WIRE
SOMEWHERE

OR

THEY ADDED A BOX OR DEVICE ONTO A POWERED WIRE... AND THE BOX OR DEVICE IS GENERATING THE NOISE

EASY WAY TO FIND IT.. TRACK THE POWER WIRE TO THOSE HEADLIGHTS BACK TO IT AND I'LL THE POWER WIRE TO IT... TEST FOR NOISE

IF THOSE LIGHTS SIMPLY USE EXISTING SOCKETS.. UNPLUG THE LIGHTS ONE AT A TIME TILL THE NOISE STOPS...

Not knowing when or who installed the radio in question, I’ll refrain from any judgement, but I’ll offer the following advice that helped me solve this issue when I installed a radio, amp, speakers and a powered sub in our TJ…

I discovered that not all grounds are created equal.

To eliminate the offending noise in my setup, all I had to do was to “piggyback “ the ground for the radio to the ground lug on the amp.
This ensures that there is not a ground loop in the circuit.

LOL THANK K YOU FOR VALIDATING MY ADVISE, THE GROUND DRAINS RFI INTO THE CHASSIS WHICH ACTS AS AN ANTENNA. AND DISZAPATES IT AS ELECTRICAL ENERGY. GLAD U FIXED IT
