Hello, I just bought an 08 jeep wrangler unlimited and I realized that the doesn't work while I drive at high speeds or when I put it on full blast. Kinda like a blend between the warm and cold air. If you have any idea what problem might be causing this please let me know. Thank you!

Do you know if it had some recent cooling system work done? What is your engine temp when it gets warmed up?

I'm not too sure about it having any work done to the cooling system but I don't know if this helps information helps but it kinda smells like maple syrup when I do turn it on. It's weird I know. but the engine temp is sitting at the regular engine temp when it gets warmed up

I wonder if it could have some of the wrong Antifreeze mixed in it and it causing a problem in your heater core.

Have you tried the different settings on the selector (feet only, dash and feet, defrost) and what are the results?

And you mentioned when you "drive at high speeds" and when the fan is "full blast." Is it operating properly at lower driving speeds and lower fan speeds?

It could be as simple as the "door" that regulates air flow in the cabin portion of the climate system. The blend door actuator(?) can fail, requiring a new one. There are several youtube pieces about replacing it.

I have a '13 that I had to flush the heater core. Check to see if the drivers side is cooler than the passenger side. If you find the driver side is cooler then you might need to flush the heater core. I did my flush the way this guy did. But I didn't put in the filter he talks about.
