I have the P0404 code on my 09 3.8 liter. Should I replace the EGR valve or just clean it?
103,000 miles.

If the light doesn't bother you just do nothing, I deleted my EGR over 2 years ago after I saw how it messed up the inside of my intake manifold.

I don’t mind the light, it just prevents my remote start from working. Minnesota winters, and my lazy backside, prefer it on cold days.

I don't need a remote start in my garage so I wouldn't know that would be a problem. LOL

I have heard you can clean them and they will still work. It's all that gummy stuff that gets into the intake that causes the problem.

If I lived up there in Skyrim I would replace it. Don’t think I could do those winters.
