New member from Central NJ. Bought a 2010 JK manual about a month ago. Mainly bought as a fun second car and to be a TOAD to my RV. Yes the 3.8 is underpowered, I felt it the first time I drove. My 2 first projects are to set up to be flat towed and a soft top. Bought with hard top but no soft top. Also trying to figure out a simply way to put 2 kayaks on the roof so I can take more toy with me when I go camping. Being on many Toy forums I know there is a lot of info other member's have and are willing to share. Look forward to the conversations

Get yourself a Pedal Commander it will make it feel like it has more power. It makes the throttle pedal more responsive.
 
Welcome. Nice colour. Looks like it came of the line the same time as my 2010 2 door sport manual, in Deep Water Blue Pearl. But my 17in Al rims and SRA tires have been in my basement for the last 7yrs because they are no good for the winters here. I like the non responsive OEM pedal because it gives me more control on the ice, snow and crawling offroad. 3.8 is bullet proof, more heat, displacement rules here at -30C. Have Fun.

Not sure about the kayaks but I suspect a Gobi roof rack may be a possible option.

I'll bet @IndominusHuman knows. I want to say he has a kayak (maybe I'm wrong?).
 
I don't have a kayak right now, but it is definitely on the list.

I do suggest the Gobi rack though (I will get one eventually when they come out with a new model to fit my fenders). Its pricey, but will do anything you need and it is the best of the best. Be prepared to wait about 8 months though.


In the mean time I would suggest getting a pool noodle and cutting it in half, it will give some cushion on the hardtop and then just tie it to the front and rear tow points. This obviously doesn't work with a soft top though. :(


And 2 door JKs are the best, don't let anyone else tell you different. :p
