In the mid-90s a friend of mine was on his way home in his Jeep on I-85 East and a tire flew out the back of an open-top stake truck headed west. The tire bounded over the center divider and crushed his hood and windshield. He lost control of the Jeep went off the interstate at about 65. The body tub and roll cage were the only remaining recognizable parts of the Jeep that saved his life. He spent about a week in the hospital with no life threatening injuries or broken bones- he simply got the shit beat out of him.
It's still a vehicle, folks, not an Abrams tank.
