What's the biggest tire I can install without wheel spacers?

The 255/75-17 tires are the biggest that work on stock JK wheels due to tire width and backspacing. I don't know about JL wheels.

What is the biggest size tire I can fit with no lift on a Jeep Wrangler JK?

You can run 285/70-17 on a 4.5" backspace wheel with full articulation by running flat fenders, no lift.

Looking for tire size suggestions for a JK with no lift

If doing wheel spacers, you'll need 1 1/2" both for tire fitment, and to avoid cutting your lug studs. Never use spacers that do not have separate bolts for the spacers and lugs.

    Tire Size Gear Ratio Charts

I think that one thing those charts really tell us is how completely useless the standard 3.21 gears are. I would think that 3.73 should be standard, 4.10 available in all trims, and 4.56 an option with 32" tires. But hey, that would actually make sense...

    Alternator & Winching

No need to replace the rope. I have the same setup. I'll pull off the hook, and remove the metal from the loop. I already have the yankum ropes fairlead, so will be "converting" soon. Should be easy. Note how much Matt abuses those badlands winches, and they just keep going.

I wanna run 35s, how much lift do I need?

2 1/2" lift, flat fenders and you can flex 35" tires with 4.5" backspace wheels.

2016 good 3.5 inch or 4 inch lift

Which will also give clearance for larger tires to articulate.

Where do I start with my Jeep?

I used PB Blaster's Surface Sheild. Like Fluid Film and Wool Wax, it is lanolin based and doesn't dry. It can be sprayed on wet metal, and will pull the water away. It will stand up to power washers. Pull all skids, clean rust as well as possible, start spraying surface shield inside frame, then...

Need help with lift kit purchase for 2012 JKU

A lift should be sized to fit the tires you want. Going over 3" gets much more complicated, and can cause lots of steering and ride problems if you don't know what you're doing. For 35" tire I wouldn't go more than a 21/2" lift. Do flat fenders if you need more tire clearance.

Replacement protective sleeve for synthetic winch rope

Sorry, but I can't agree with your post. Sounds like you are a few decades out of date on your info. Nobody should be using either nylon or natural fiber lines on a winch. Dyneema is many, many times stronger than either, and has almost zero stretch. It is way safer than any other winch line...

What are some of your favorite shovels and axes?

I have a military shovel/pick (Vietnam era?) that I paid $10 for at a surplus store 30 years ago. Wooden handled with a spring loaded 5/8" steel square locking post to lock it into a number of positions. Leather blade cover. Unlike the newer foldables with a threaded collar, once locked this...

    Best mud and snow tires

What works for mud is about as far as what works for snow as you can get. That being said, it also depends a lot on what kind of mud, and especially what kind of snow. I avoid mud, so not high on my priority list. Snow I love, and a dedicated snow tire is the way to go in almost all situations...
